Casnewydd

'Casnewydd', the Welsh for Newport, is James' latest addition to The Skyline Series, which captures major cities from a drone view. 

120x80cm made with acrylic and texture on aluminium, with a bespoke black floater frame. This was James's first attempt painting on metal. 

Parts of the surface have been left deliberately without paint, and polished to give the effect of reflections. The river in the distance moves and shimmers, almost tricking the eye into thinking the water is alive.
